The Story of Straggler Lemming

Growing up in the shadows of General Motors assembly plants in Flint, Michigan, a child could come to believe that every cloud in the sky was the result of some giant smoke stack emination. The lightening from those clouds surely was first emitted from the framewelders torch, and thunder came from the metal pressing plant. How to break from the orbit of such an all consuming source, on which the whole town's (if not the world's) fortune revolved ?

The musical journey of Dennis Freese (aka Straggler Lemming) began in Flint, with James T. and the Workers 1966 pre-punk classic 'That is all'. But that turned out to be just the beginning. The CD journey that you are about to embark upon is a prism of color and spiritual unfolding through the decades since, and is infused with facets of Jazz, Latin Funk, Ballad, Klezmer, Rock, humor, and (Oh,yes..er..) some original musical landscaping that basically defies description!

Ultimately, this work is going to demand something of you the listener. Be ready for anything! Dennis Freese took half of a lifetime to assemble this vehicle (thus the Straggler Lemming handle!), but ironically, it moves at the speed of light.
